The Pittsburgh Bowlers Tour is guaranteeing the winner of the tournament will be paid 100% IN CASH (!!) immediately following the finals on Monday. You'll be handed $3000 as your picture is being taken for the site.
Next, since this is a three-day event, it's a holiday weekend, and there are numerous people coming in from out of town (and out of state), the Tournament Director is suggesting a minor change to the match play finals. If he gets 100% approval from those making it into match play, he will hold the Saturday match play on Saturday, the Sunday match play on Sunday, and the Monday match play on Monday, with the six squad winners bowling two games to determine the champion immediately following Monday's match play. That way, the winners will already know they have to come back on Monday for the finals, while the losers can enjoy the rest of their weekend and not have to worry about coming back on Monday for the possibility of bowling just one game. This will also speed up things a bit on Monday because you'll have less players going head-to-head at once. Since this is a change from the posted rules, a vote will be taken each day. Again, it needs to be a 100% buy-in each day or it's no-go.
Also, since it's impossible to know what the final prize fund will look like until Monday, those who end up cashing in the tournament but did not advance to the finals on Monday would either have their payouts mailed to them, or they would need to come back to the lanes to pick it up (which defeats the purpose of doing this in the first place).
Buddy fielded a LOT of calls today. He said he pulled in 30-40 entries today alone. We are officially at 125 pre-paid entries and counting. Monday is filling up quickly. If you are interested in reserving a spot for ANY day, call Buddy directly at: 412-351-0309.
One last item, this is a working weekend for me and I do not know if I'll be able to make it down for the tournament. This is a casting call for all photographers. If spouses, family, friends snap any pictures of the event, the building, the surrounding area, please send them to me so I can post them online.

Another day has been added to the Meadows Lanes tournament, Monday, September 6, 2010. Squad times for that day will be 9:00 and 11:00am with the finals being held immediately following the 11:00am squad on Monday. You will also find an updated entry form below.
Due to the added squads, the finals will be be changing a bit. Now, we will have a total of six squad winners (2 each day) and they will all bowl 2 games in the championship with total pins determining the winner.
There will be a maximum of 72 prepaid entries per squad.
We will not be posting bowler names this year, but we will be posting an update on how many people have signed up for each squad, each day.
Bonuses
In addition to Storm 3-ball bags being given away to the highest prepaid entry for the early squad on each day (Monday included), new bonuses have been announced (with the possibility of more to come). As of now, here's what is being offered.
Saturday Bonus:
The highest prepaid entries from the 11:00am and 1:00pm squads will each receive a birthday party package for 15 people at the state-of-the-art VIP Lounge at Meadows Lanes. The package includes video, music, cosmic and food. Alcohol is not included.
Sunday Bonus:
The highest prepaid entries from the 11:00am and 1:00pm squads will each receive a Storm Bowling Ball.
Monday Bonus:
The highest prepaid entries from the 9:00am and 11:00am squads will each receive a free entry into the PBT Mid-Year Tournament at Nesbit's AND the End-of-the-Year Tournament at Freeway.
